A place with an ancient heritage, the actual town of Mojacar is situated just over a mile from the coast in the hills of southern Spain and has been inhabited since at least the bronze age. The town of Mojacar itself having been home over the past few millennia to the Greeks, Moors and Christians is well worth exploring on foot to properly view its wealth of historic architecture. There is a wonderful outdoor market and several festivals in the summer months as well as a plenty of places to eat, drink and shop and a host of amenities such as hotels, supermarkets, sports facilities and parks.
